Day by Day

Upon Arrival in Kilimanjaro airport, you will go through the immigration formalities, then meet your driver outside who will be holding a welcome sign with your booking name. After he has checked that you have all your luggage’s, you will start driving to your hotel in Arusha

Lodging: Gran Melia Arusha or Similar (B, B)

We wake up to enjoy our first breakfast served by Gran Melia hotel. After breakfast we meet our expert drivers, and for those who wish to exchange money this will be the best time before we start the drive though Tanzania’s rural landscape to Tarangire. After checking in at the Tarangire Safari Lodge we will have lunch and proceed to Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive. In the evening we will return to our lodge which is situated on the escarpment overlooking the Tarangire River Valley where herds of elephant come for an afternoon drink.

Today we continue with our photographic game drives through the Tarangire’s varied habitats which include the river valley, rolling hills, acacia woodland and dramatic stands of enormous baobab trees. As we game view we will search for the perfect tree on the valley rim for a spectacular sunset shot before we return to the lodge. Specialties of the park include the abundant bird life with the population of raptors in the world during this time of the year since all the big game came here to drink water from the Tarangire river as everywhere is dry.

We will do an early morning game drive before we depart to Serengeti National Park. Here we will search for lions, leopards, cheetah and inhabit the seronera river valley including the surrounding savannah. There is a lot of habitats to explore. The rivers and watering holes support a huge variety of bird life as well as providing water for all the animals in the park. In the years back the large prides had as many members including newborn cubs and their mothers, old juveniles and big males. cheetahs are abundant in the plains & the wooded ridges are always productive. We take bush breakfast with us to make the most of the days out then we return to the lodge / camp and wait for the evening game drives which starts late when animals become more active as the day cools down. Don’t forget that Leopards love to hunt in the afternoon thus adding lots of excitement to a game drive.

Today we leave the Central Serengeti in the early morning as we game drive to the Northern part of the National park where the heards are concentrated before the final journey to the Masai Mara. At this time of the year we expect to see the wildebeest crossing the Mara River as it winds through the Serengeti. We will game drive as we drive towards our camp and expect to arrive in the evening before sun goes down.

After the first day to the North of the Serengeti, we will have another three full days to enjoy this side of the park. Our driver-guide will choose the route using his extensive knowledge of the park and current conditions. The Serengeti – meaning “Endless Plains” in the Maasai language. This is the most famous National Park in Africa. Enjoy packed breakfast here to make the most of the morning out exploring the impressive and dramatic wildlife. Return to the camp for lunch and again when the sun cools down, we will go out to get sun set pictures whilst enjoying the wildlife.

We depart the Northern Serengeti going back to the central Serengeti whilst game driving. We will have one night here before we continue to the Ngorongoro Crater the next day. It is awesome to revisit our favorite locations in this dramatic wildlife-filled region of the park.

We will say good-bye to the Serengeti National Park as we enjoy our last breakfast at Intimate Places Camps before we load our 4x4 land cruiser with our bags and cameras. Our morning will end up at Naabi Hill where we will say final goodbye to the Serengeti. Our drive will take us to the rim of the Crater where we will be served with lunch as we enjoy the spectacular views of the crater. From here we will descend down 2000 feet to the crater floor. We continue with game drive and ascend in the evening to allow us time to arrive at the lodge in the best time for a cool drink as the sun sets.

            After the first day we will have another full day into the crater and we will start the game drive early in the morning to allow us capture the peak action of the day. This natural wonder supports its own resident herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra. Male elephants come to this place to find peace as the Crater is quiet. Hippos inhabit the lakes and pools while lions prowl the long grass. Birds like Kori bustards and crowned cranes are common in this area as are huge eland and buffalo. It’s the only place where it is possible to see all the Big Five in one park – Lion, leopard, cape buffalo, elephant and rhino

Lodging: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or Similar (B, L, D)

Today we will have a leisurely breakfast then we will drive towards to Karatu then Arusha and arrive in time for lunch then we will pass at the gallery of the African Cultural Center to shop for Carvings, artifacts and Tanzanite gems. We will have Day Rooms to freshen up before departing to Kilimanjaro airport for your international flight.
